Built in Accra. For everyone visiting Ghana.

Guide to Ghana is a local-first travel marketplace. We're a small team of Ghanaians and long-time residents who book the tours, stays and drivers we'd send our own families on.

OUR MISSION

Make Ghana the easiest hard place to travel.

Ghana is one of the warmest, most rewarding countries in the world to visit. It is also a country where most tours, stays and drivers are still booked over WhatsApp, paid in cash, and confirmed by the kind of luck that doesn't scale. We built Guide to Ghana to change the second part without losing the first.

Every operator on the platform is Ghana-registered. Every guide is local to their region. Every cedi you spend stays here. We take a small commission to keep the lights on; we publish what it is on every booking page.

320+
Curated tours

From street-food crawls to elephant safaris β€” every one personally vetted.

80
Local operators

Ghana-registered, GTA-licensed. We meet them before listing.

12,400+
Verified reviews

β˜… 4.8 average. Every review tied to a real booking.

HOW WE WORK

Five principles we don't break.

01

Local guides, always.

No expat-led "African experiences." Every guide on the platform is from the region they show you.

02

Transparent margins.

Our commission is published on every booking page. No surprise fees, no inflated airport-shuttle fares.

03

Real humans answer.

WhatsApp +233 replies within 12 hours β€” usually under 30 minutes. No offshore call centers, no chatbot triage.

04

Hold now, pay later.

Reserve any tour without paying. We confirm with the operator, then send you a secure payment link.

05

Mobile Money first.

Most of Ghana runs on MTN MoMo, not Stripe. We accept both β€” and a dozen others (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, AirtelTigo, Telecel, bank transfer). Pay how you actually pay.

We're 14 people in a converted house on Liberation Road, plus 80 partner operators across the 16 regions.

QUICK ANSWERS

Common questions

Do you run private custom itineraries? β–Ύ

Yes. Most of our larger trips start as a "tell us your dates & vibe" message. Within 12 hours we send a draft itinerary β€” free, no commitment. Most travellers book the draft as-is.

Are you the operator, or a marketplace? β–Ύ

Both. We run a handful of trips ourselves (mostly Cape Coast, Mole, and Detty December packages). For the rest we partner with 80 vetted local operators across the country.

I'm an operator. How do I list? β–Ύ

Email partners@guidetoghana.com with your GTA registration, sample itineraries, and one reference traveler. We meet in person before listing.

Is the booking covered if something goes wrong? β–Ύ

If an operator cancels or fails to deliver as described, we refund or rebook at our cost. We strongly recommend separate travel insurance for medical, flight, and personal-property cover.
